Located
in Kampia in the picturesque region of Apokoronas, the detached villa is set
amidst ancient olive groves. Its five double guest rooms
are newly decorated, have private balconies and are en-suite. In addition,
there is a self-catering studio, also en suite with private balcony.
The first floor balconies have panoramic views of the White Mountains and Souda Bay.
The
villa is a short 5 minute drive from AlmIrida with its delightful golden beach
and a stroll away from tavernas and shops in the popular village of Plaka.
Breathe in the clear mountain air scented with wild flowers and herbs and watch and listen to the many birds nesting in and around the olive groves. This is excellent walking country with wildflower trails in the spring. Booklets of local walks available and guided walks during May and June.

The villa boasts several peaceful and secluded seating areas for the guest scented by a profusion of roses, jasmine, wisteria, bougainvillea, apricot, olive trees and citrus fruits. It even has a pond with resident terrapin.
The White mountains dominate Western Crete and the Apokoronas area is ideally placed for exploring some of the gorges, particularly Samaria and Imbros.

Car hire is recommended except for serious walkers.
Kampia is about 40 minutes drive from Chania airport.

Villa Chariklia is owned and managed by English resident hosts Rita and Gerry Wood who are anxious to make your stay enjoyable and restful. All rooms are well appointed and finished to a high standard.
There are tea and coffee-making facilities in each room and a large fridge on the ground floor for any guest to store drinks or snacks. There is a no smoking policy in the bedrooms, although guests are welcome to smoke on their private balcony or anywhere in the gardens.
