Overview:

Disk Defragmenters: As a hard disk is used, files are constantly created, updated and deleted. As this cycle goes on and on, files are not allocated in a continous space on disk surface, but instead become fragmented, resulting in lower performance.
Using a utility to defragment hard disk regularly is absolutely necessary for tasks like video grabbing, while cd recording and other operations requiring heavy hard disk usage benefit substantially from it. Defragging can also be applied to removable media like zip and jaz disks.
