Chrani is located in the Southwest of Messinia, 35km from Kalamata, the capital of the prefecture. It is a small village with lovely beaches, crystal waters and hospitable inhabitants. Situated amongst the towns of Logga and Petalidi, just 20 minutes from the Southern part of Peloponnese, where lies the historical city of Koroni. Chrani has everything you need. Good climate with quiet winter, sweet fall, blooming spring, cool summer, sea, sightseeing, easy access and the necessary infrastructure. 		 
  History:
Chrani belongs to the municipality of Epia located in Logga in the prefecture of Messini. According to Homer, ''Epia'' was one of the seven seaside legendary countries promised by King Agamemnon to hero Achilles as leverage to return in combat in the Trojan war. Pausanias, the great historian, explorer and archaeologist, locates the city of Epia somewhere between the towns of Petalidi and Logga. In a hill, just above the town of Petalidi, ancient ruins of Mycenae rhythm Acropolis have been recovered. 		  The village

With chrani as a starting point one can programme many trips such as:
  • To Koroni which was one of the most important Venetian trade, supply and naval centres. It's Venetian castle, it's narrow streets and island- like colour evoke it's medieval glory. The view from the castle is breathtaking.
  • To Foinikounta, a picturesque fishermen's village between Koroni and Methoni, combining green and beautiful beaches.
  • To Methoni which is known for it's medieval castle and it is one of the best preserved in the Mediterranean. It was built in the 13th century and was the biggest fortress in the Peloponnese.
  • To Pylos one of the most beautiful cities in Messinia with traditional buildings. It's natural port is one of the safest in the Mediterranean and is well known from the sea battle of Navarinon in 1827.

  How to get there:
The airport of Messini is only 20 minutes away from Chrani.

In addition, you can come by car and by bus from Kifisos in Athens [KTEL OF MESSINIAS]. From Athens or Patra via the national motorway heading towards Messinia. At the time you reach the Asprohoma crossroad, you make a right turn towards Petalidi.
Chrani is only 5km after Petalidi.
