Lesson 14   Strong accusative (object) pronouns

These are as follows:

me

(ε)μάς

us

you

(ε)σάς

you

him

them

her

them

it

them

As with the nominative pronouns, the strong accusative pronouns are used to emphasise and therefore they are shown in italics.

Examples of how they are used are as follows:

στέλνει γράμματα σε σένα;

Helen prepares the coffee for him

this place is for you

that place is for her

the parcel is for them not us

this present is for you

the beers are from me

the present is from them

I am sending letters to them

is he sending letters to you?

Note how some of the words are shortened to accommodate vowels.

These strong pronouns are also used before verbs.

he wants me not you

I love you not her

she loves him not you

I see her every day not him
